Graffiti Mix Specialties

This past December, Graffiti Mix got to hang out at some pretty awesome craft sales!  We had three main items of interest:

Steampunk Jewelry: made from recycled materials ~ not just gluing gears on it!

Painted Ties: ties decorated with everything from Angry Birds to Edgar Allen Poe.  They're very easy to make, just find yourself a tie, some acrylic paint, and a brush, and paint something fun!  We like to work the scene into the pattern of the tie as well.

Gnome Hats: Made from assorted and fun colours and textures of wool ~ there's no set pattern, so each one of them is unique!  They're easy to make to: you crochet a ring of five, and just go around and around from there, adding a couple stitches every couple of rows until it fits just right!

Happy New Year! with Lester Finnigan

Hello, and welcome to the newly remastered Copper Opera!

After a long hiatus, I return to this blog with a new direction, a new idea, a new set of goals ~ after all, it is a new year, and what better way to celebrate such than converting this page of randomness into a more quirky and creative page of randomness!? Ah, and here is our first random guest, Lester Finnigan!

Lester is part of a crew of airship pirates.  He himself was sewn out of old sweaters and fabric samples, with a few metal elements gathered at the Reuse centre here in Edmonton.  He has a fiery temper and lost part of his left arm battling an automaton in order to save his ship captain; he is also a huge fan of checkers and is a lovely person to sit down on the ship rail and look down at the cities with.  He is passionately patriotic and hopes to meet the Queen for tea in the near future.

I'm part of a theatre/ arts group that sells these unique stuffies at craft fairs, or just finds good homes for them.  Perhaps we shall be meeting more of them in the future.

Until next time, my fellow crafters!
